Goju Ryu Karate Programs

Head Sensei and Director of Tri-city Training (2007), Renshi Tom Cako, (5th degree black belt (Godan) and certified Level III CNGK Instructor), began his training at an early age, being introduced to Goju Karate by Kyoshi J Purdy, 8th dan. At age 13, Tom was awarded his junior black belt, and is now ranked Yondan with Canadian Naha-te Goju Karate. He has had the privilege of traveling to Okinawa, the birthplace of karate, to study with Hanshi Meitatsu Yagi, 10th dan.

In addition to studying several martial arts and Strength/Conditioning, for many years –Tom was a competitive athlete in the sport of Amateur Wrestling, where he was able to achieve national status and represent his country in both national and international events. With passion and conviction, Tom continues to develop his own skills and to pursue these disciplines. As Director, Tom Cako is committed to promoting a lifelong, healthy lifestyle in his students, one that focuses on all aspects of their lives.

Tom Cako brings both his extensive knowledge of physical training and martial arts to his broad experience with wrestling and offers a coaching perspective that looks at the total athlete.
